It is an honor for Jazz San Javier to present Ellis Marsalis, one of the most important jazz pianists in the city of New Orleans. Teacher to several great virtuosos like Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison, Harry Connick Jr, or Nicholas Payton, among many others, including his world renown sons Wynton, Branford, Delfeayo and Jason Marsalis. Ellis is a reference to all classical jazz aficionados and he was the leading educator in Jazz Studies at New Orlans University until 2001. Ellis has a impressive discography both as leader and sideman. With a magnificent quartet which includes Jesse Davis, another one of this disciples, Ellis Marsalis will perform on the final night of the festival to the delight of fans of the very best jazz.
