A living jazz legend, tenor saxophonist and flutist Charles Lloyd received the “National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master” in April of 2015, the most prestigious honor for any living jazz musician. He recorded his debut album Dream Weaver in 1996 on the Atlatic record label alongside his first great quartet formed by pianist Keith Jarret, double bassist Cecil McBee and drummer Jack DeJohnetter. Charles Lloyd has amassed a discography which shows him as a subtle balladeer, with a magnificent sensibity open to diverse influences. With a career spanning fifty years he is part of the Jazz Olympus with the likes of Sonny Rollins and Wayne Shorter. Charles Lloyd continues to surround himself with the best groups of every new generation of artists. Jazz San Javier is pleased to present to all aficionados this quartet of magnificent musicians.
