Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles
Organist, pianist and singer, Cory Henry is a native of Brooklyn, New York, where he started playing the Hammond B3 and the piano at the age of two, and who at the age of six offered a concert at the Apollo Theater. He began touring in 2006 with great figures such as Bruce Springsteen, Michael McDonald, Kenny Garrett and The Roots and recorded two albums as main artist, which were highly valued by critics and fans of Jazz and Gospel, his two great influences. After his work as a member of the supergroup Snarky Puppy, in April 2018 he recorded his first single with his new band The Funk Apostles, and a few months later the album “Art of Love”, which shows, in a way, the impressive power that the band has when performing live. A group as complete as this one had not appeared for years, with fantastic voices, instrumentalists with hypnotic solos, a kind of Sly & The Family Stone of the 21st century. A great concert of soul, funk & gospel to delight the fans of Jazz San Javier, who will appreciate it for what it's worth.
