The Texan singer, composer and guitarist, Ruthie Foster, possesses a suggestive and expressive voice which freely moves about the musical spectrum of blues, soul and folk. She has been a frequent companion to Aretha Franklin and Bonnie Raitt, even though sometimes she reminds us of Randy Crawford during her best years. In the Blues Music Awards of 2011 she was named Best Female Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year.
