Ray Gelato, the "Godfather of Swing" visits Jazz San Javier for the first time. Born in London in 1961, the son of an American soldier stationed in the UK, as a child Ray Keith Irwin would incessantly listen to his father's record collection. Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., the best of 50s rock and roll and above all Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Bill Haley influenced Ray Gelato's repertoire which lives somewhere between jazz, 50s and 60s rock and swing. A fantastic tenor sax player and a recognized singer and showman, Ray has played the best jazz festivals in the world and at some notable events like Paul McCartney's wedding. With his recent new band, a small, compact combo, Ray will show us his most festive and fun side. Great musicians for a joyful concert.
