Member of a family of Louisiana musicians, Jonathan Batiste is a pianist, singer, educator and melodic virtuoso, called to be, in a short period of time, one of jazz greatest, worldwide. Ever since his beginnings with his family band, The Batiste Brothers Band, where he played drums at the age of eight, Batiste has recorded and performed with artists like Wynton Marsalis, Prince, Ellis Marsalis, Lenny Kravitz, Aloe Blacc, Harry Connick Jr., Cassandra Wilson, Abbey Lincoln and Roy Hargrove, among others. For his debut at Jazz San Javier, he will lead an outstanding quintet, and will show his amazing high musical level, as well as his abilities as an entertainer, which predict a very bright future for him.
