One of the most beautiful nights in the history of Jazz San Javier was on July 30, 2017, at the closing of the XX edition, with the concert of the legendary endearing Michel Legrand, one of the most important European jazz musicians of all times, pianist, arranger, conductor and exceptional composer. Michel composed more than 200 soundtracks for film and television, was nominated on thirteen occasions to the Oscars, three of which he won, he won five Grammy awards, and numerous of his compositions have become jazz classics. He is, without a doubt, one of the giants of European Jazz. His recent passing has motivated this tribute concert, production of Jazz San Javier itself, with the musical direction of his loyal double bass player and friend Pierre Boussaguet, drummer Sebastian DeKrom, Patrice Peyrieras on piano and Sharman Plesner on violin. As special guest Natalie Dessay, the most important French soprano since Régine Crespin, and also a jazz and musical singer, who worked on many occasions with Michel Legrand, and who is one of the most prestigious and respected voices in France
