Roberto Carlos Valdés “Cucurucho” is a prestigious Cuban pianist, grandson of Bebo Valdés and nephew of Chucho Valdés. He was a member of Los Van Van and has played with music greats such as Bebo Valdés, Rubén Blades, Óscar de León, Juanes and Orishas.
Javier Colina, for many, the best double-bassist in Spanish jazz, is a reference for contemporary music in our country, also in pop, flamenco and Latin music. He had a great relationship with the pianist Bebo Valdés with whom he played and recorded on numerous occasions, the best known being the “Lágrimas Negras” project, with Diego El Cigala.
Together with the wonderful singer Alana Sinkëy and the renowned drummer and percussionist Moisés Porro, they will present us a tribute to the music of Bebo Valdés, in memory of the great Cuban pianist, who Jazz San Javier hosted the fifth edition of the festival on its stage, in one of the first concerts in which he played with Diego El Cigala.
