With an interesting sextet, drummer T.S. Monk, son of the legendary Thelonious Monk, presents a concert to celebrate the centennial of one of the greatest composers in the history of jazz- Thelonious Sphere Monk, founding pianist of Bebop, will be remembered for his unique improvisational style, and his great compositions, which include some jazz standards like “Round About Midnight”, Straight No Chaser”, “52nd Street Dream” or “Blue Monk”, among many others. His son T.S. Monk, drummer, composer, vocalist and disciple of the great Max Roach presents his fantastic and respectful arrangements of his father’s music, with an exceptional guest, the prestigious vocalist Nnenna Freelon, a six time Grammy Award nominee who has collaborated with legendary musicians like Earl Klugh, Ivan Links or Ramsey Lewis.
