Singer, extraordinary guitarist and composer, Joao Bosco is one the great masters of contemporary Brazilian song. A natural of Ponte Nova (Minas Gerais), he first worked as an engineer, but his passion for music won out and he ended up moving to Rio de Janeiro where he became successful and his compositions were soon demanded by great artists like Elis Regina. Mixing very diverse styles like the Bossa Nova, afroamerican music, with hints of Arabic music, since his father is Lebanese, he is widely admired for being a versatile vocalist and a fantastic guitarist. He was not very well know in the US until his collaborations with Lee Ritenour, which made him an international superstar, especially his participation in Lee's album "Festival". A long awaited premiere at the Festival for one of the most respected musicians in Brazil, accompanied by an extraordinary group that includes the prestigious guitarist Ricardo Silveira.
