We said a few years ago, after his fantastic first concert at Jazz San Javier, that Antonio Lizana had everything to succeed and that, if nothing stood in his way, in a few years would be one of the great ones of Spanish jazz. We fell short because this saxophonist, singer and composer from Cádiz has had great success and is taking his art all over the world, becoming in record time one of the most admired stars of flamenco jazz, the most genuine form of jazz in our country. His last album “Oriente”, the third in his career, and his collaborations as a singer and saxophonist with the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra of Arturo O'Farrill, in New York, are his last two milestones. Antonio Lizana will display his art in San Javier at the head of a sextet of brilliant musicians with two special guests: the trumpeter from Bosnia Herzegovina settled in Spain Miron Rafajlovic and the Cádiz-born singer Maria La Mónica. Eight musicians on stage, a flamenco jazz concert of many carats.
