Led by percussionist Jorge Pérez, Patax is today the freshest, most cosmopolitan and brilliant expression of new jazz fusion with flamenco ingredients and one of the most spectacular and surprising jazz bands in Spain of all time, as we could well check out San Javier Jazz on its first visit to the Festival in 2017.
In the wake of the legacy of legends such as Weather Report, Chick Corea Electric Band, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Enrique Morente or Paco de Lucia, Patax has taken the concept of jazz fusion to new frontiers, and from there, it presents its musical tribute to The Beatles, with a unique and original revision of their most beautiful songs, in a fusion of jazz, flamenco and Afro-Cuban rhythms that gives them a new shine.
