Joan Mar Sauqué, trumpeter and composer born in Garrigoles, province of Girona, is one of the most admired talents of new jazz in Spain.
Trained with David Pastor and in Joan Chamorro's Sant Andreu Jazz Band, from which some of the best jazz musicians in Catalonia have emerged, he perfected his style at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya.
With three albums under his belt, Joan Mar debuts at Jazz San Javier with an exceptional quintet, composed of the prestigious brothers Casares, Lluc and Joan, on saxophone and drums, respectively, the brilliant double-bassist Giuseppe Campisi and the fantastic pianist and singer from Oklahoma (USA) Champian Fulton, considered one of the best jazz musicians of her generation.
