The young pianist and composer Daniel “Donny” López is one of the brightest talents in our country within the realms of Funk and Soul. Winner of the Enlace Funk Award for Best New Group in 2021 and nominated again this year, Daniel has been a standout student of renowned pianists such as Pepe Rivero, Iñaki Salvador, and Mauricio Vallina.

Mastering the entire spectrum of black music, from Soul, Funk, Jazz, R&B, Neo Soul, to high-quality Latin sounds, Daniel presents a special project at Jazz San Javier with 8 musicians and 3 singers, a lot of groove, and arrangements that remind us of the best years of 70s/80s funk, along with flashes of Neo Soul.

The repertoire includes his own compositions and new, powerful arrangements of classics by Sly & The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Real Thing, Earth Wind & Fire, and The Isley Brothers, among others.
