Many years have passed since July 30, 2004, when Lizz Wright first visited us at the 7th edition of Jazz San Javier, on a historic night alongside the great Steve Winwood. Even then, at the beginning of her career, she displayed extraordinary talent, which has placed her among the greatest jazz singers of our time.
Her elegant style of vocal jazz with hints of soul and gospel, and occasional folk influences, makes her, according to The New York Times, the heir to a direct lineage from Odetta to Tracy Chapman.
Accompanied by an extraordinary group, Lizz will offer us a selection of the best from her eight albums, especially her latest, “Shadow,” a marvelous record that showcases the great artistic peak this fantastic artist is currently experiencing.
Lizz Wright: vocals.
