Camille Thurman, New York-born saxophonist, vocalist, and composer, is one of the most brilliant jazz artists of our time. As an example, she was the first woman in over thirty years to be hired as a saxophonist by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by the great trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.

Fluid, powerful, and brilliant on the tenor sax, her sound has been compared to that of giants like Ben Webster, Joe Henderson, and Dexter Gordon, and her beautiful voice, with its great scat singing ability, to Betty Carter and Ella Fitzgerald.

In her debut at Jazz San Javier, she will be accompanied by the quartet of Darrell Green, one of the most prestigious drummers on the current jazz scene.
