Pianist and composer Chico Pérez, a native of Jaén, is one of the most renowned young musicians in Spain. He has released three albums: “Grujerías” (2019), a tribute album to Dave Grusin, “Continente 27” (2021), and “Sarao” (2024). Fernando Neira, writing in the newspaper El País, stated that “Continente 27 is the highly commendable consecration of Pérez as one of the leading figures of the new flamenco jazz. He is a great sensation at the piano, the heir to the thrones of Dorantes and Chano Domínguez.”
A composer of film and audiovisual music, such as the feature film “La vida en una gota” (Life in a Drop) and the documentary “Hay noches que duran toda una vida” (There Are Nights That Last a Whole Life), Chico Pérez presents us with a splendid quintet full of top-level musicians from the Spanish music scene and a truly exceptional guest, Manuel Lombo, one of the most brilliant Andalusian artists, a flamenco singer by training, with one of the most original and beautiful voices on the flamenco scene today.
