Considered one of the most important tenor saxophonists playing today, Joe Lovano (Cleveland, USA) is a great improviser, spontaneous, innovative, and brilliant.
Winner of a Grammy Award for his 52nd Street Themes and nominated 14 more times, he has also won countless DownBeat critics' and readers' polls for best tenor saxophonist, musician of the year, jazz album of the year, and the DownBeat triple crown.
Honorary Doctor of Music from the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Joe Lovano, a living legend of the tenor saxophone, returns to Jazz San Javier after his first concert at the festival's 11th edition (2008) with the San Francisco Jazz Collective.
