Luca Filastro is considered one of the world's finest interpreters of Piano Stride, the language created by jazz pioneers such as Willie "The Lion" Smith and Fats Waller, and is a living encyclopedia of classic jazz styles, such as those created by Teddy Wilson, Oscar Peterson, and Ahmad Jamal. His concerts are a snapshot of the history of jazz piano, assuming a role in Europe similar to that of Emmet Cohen in America.
For the second part of the concert, a commission from Jazz San Javier, focused on Italian popular music, featuring the prestigious vocalist Lara Ferrari, singer of the acclaimed group Sugarpie & The Candymen and a regular collaborator with the Italian Contemporary Orchestra. A varied concert, with two brilliant Italian jazz artists who invite us on a journey through classic jazz and beautiful Italian popular music, fused with jazz.
