The duo formed by Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter is one of the most original and beautiful acts to have come out of the United States in recent years.
The couple met in 2010. Michael was an army veteran wounded in the Iraq War, Tanya an actress and R&B singer, and the name chosen for the group, The War And Treaty, represents the tension between trauma and tranquility, alluding to compositions inspired by darkness and despair that ultimately find a higher spiritual purpose.
Never before in world music has there been such a perfect and beautiful blend of southern soul, country, gospel, and R&B. The wonderful voices of Michael and Tanya Trotter, their inspired compositions, a fantastic band, and a live performance full of energy, intensity, and feeling promise an unforgettable concert, one that will leave its mark on the festival's history.
