In the same ceremony, the poster of this edition of the Festival was unveiled, which recovers its previous iconic style with a colorful image and a retro air, with a double bassist and a jazz singer as protagonists of the poster designed by Grafyco.

The XXII San Javier International Jazz Festival, which premieres a Declaration of National Tourist Interest and will be held from June 28 to July 27, will host one of the only three Chick Corea concerts in Spain this summer along with those of Madrid and Barcelona, with a tour that takes the name of its legendary 1976 album "My Spanish Heart", in which he already declared his admiration for Spanish music. Chick Corea will perform at San Javier Jazz on July 25 accompanied by a macro band with guest artists such as Jorge Pardo on sax, Niño Josele on guitar and Luisito Quintero on percussion, among others.

Ron Carter, one of the most important bassists in the history of jazz, accompanied by his Foursight Quartet, will also visit this summer San Javier Jazz, as well as the great drummer Steve Gadd, accompanied by his band. The 2019 Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for his recording "Steve Gadd Band" keeps him as the most demanded session drummer in the world, and who will offer at San Javier Jazz his only concert in Spain this summer. The European jazz will feature one of its greatest models, the Danish pianist Niels Lan Doky, one of the most outstanding disciples of the great Bill Evans, who will act in trio formation.

In the preview of the program released today there is also a concert produced by the Festival, a tribute to the great trumpeter Roy Hargrove, who died in November 2018, starring Roberta Gambarini, the Italian singer based in the United States, whom the critics have compared with his admired Ella Fitzgerald, among other jazz greats, and Fabrizio Bosso, one of the most outstanding jazz trumpeters in Italy.

The director of the Festival advanced novelties and premieres at Jazz San Javier as the Texas singer Jazzmeia Horn, considered by critics as the best young jazz singer appeared in the last decade. The Argentine singer Karen Souza, whose evolution from Chill out music to jazz rock has resulted in a more jazzy style that includes bossa nova, will be accompanied by several Spanish musicians such as pianist Jaume Vilaseca. The female presence in Jazz San Javier will also feature the great revelation of New York soul jazz, the Kennedy Administration, a band led by the charismatic vocalist Kennedy whose style refers to the great stars of classical soul, in a first concert in Spain.

The young trumpeter and Catalan jazz singer, Andrea Motis, one of the most internationally renowned Spanish artists, who has just released a documentary based on her brilliant career, “La trompeta silenciosa”, directed by Ramón Tort, will visit for the first time Jazz San Javier accompanied by an old acquaintance and award-winner of the Festival, the pianist Ignasi Terraza. The singer and pianist Tony DeSare returns to Jazz San Javier in a quartet format and with the harmonica player Antonio Serrano as guest artist. The versatile Zenet will present his new album, “La Guapería”, with versions of old Cuban boleros, accompanied by excellent musicians such as Pepe Rivero on piano, Antonio Machado on trumpet, Öve Larson on trombone, and Raúl Márquez on violin, among others. The drummer and singer, Jamison Ross, excellent balladeer and one of the most interesting young jazz musicians in the United States, also appears in the program preview announced today in San Javier.

Regarding the free outdoor concerts, the presence of Anna Luna, singer of jazz and popular Brazilian music led by a six-piece band with Jaume Vilaseca on piano was announced for the Plaza de España in San Javier. The rest of the program will be announced in two weeks, when the sale of tickets and tickets commences.

The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, highlighted the fact that for the first time, the Jazz Festival of San Javier has the Declaration of National Tourist Interest, and recalled that its organization and management is one hundred percent municipal. He also pointed out the fact that yet another year the Festival goes on the streets with three free concerts in San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor.
